Luckily, Halloween Cash Pots by Inspired Gaming has something else up its sleeve beyond the spooky season: The Cash Collector mechanic made famous by some of Inspired Gaming’s other themed titles.

While the Halloween Cash Pots slot game isn’t anything particularly special in comparison to some of the biggest modern games, it’s perfectly serviceable in terms of graphics and animations. All the usual gory Halloween fun is present, with high symbols including a black cat, a monstrous spider, a spooky tombstone and a grasping zombie hand, while low symbols are the simple 10 – A. Wins are greeted by small animated celebrations, which is a nice touch, as the symbols flash and jiggle when you make combinations.
The big difference here is the presence of the cash pots, symbolized by golden pots of coins and jewels that fall onto the reels like regular symbols, and each have a cash prize written on them. You can collect these in the main game by completing combos with them as usual, and they also feature in the single bonus round. They also double as scatters, while the wild is represented by the large bonus pumpkin. The basic game is as simplistic as it sounds, and it’s also not very lucrative, so you’ll need to get into the bonuses as quickly as you can. It’s played on a 5 reel, three-row playing area with a minimum bet of 1p and a maximum bet of £/€/$60, though this can be quite rewarding when you consider the maximum potential jackpot of 4166x your stake. All in all, this brings the RTP up to a respectable 96.5%.

Land six cash pots anywhere on the reels to act the main feature of this game, the Cash Collector bonus round, which is where your main winnings will come from. Once you have landed the six pots, they will be frozen in place on the reels while the remaining reels will spin around them. You get five free spins, and the idea is to fill as many of the remaining symbols with cash pots as you can.
At its most basic level, this allows you to fill the reels with cash pots and create lucrative combos with high-value symbols. A second factor to remember is that reel five can also land up to three pumpkin bonus symbols. These transform your cash pots into special pumpkin cash pots, with each one that lands adding a 1x multiplier to your overall winnings in the feature up to a maximum of 3x. The major benefit of this round is that it has high volatility, so if you get lucky and rack up a collection of high-value cash pots with a 3x multiplier, you could be in the money. However, you’re just as likely to fizzle out with a disappointing total.

Halloween Cash Pots is a decent looking and well-made game that relies largely on its well-known bonus round to make it work. Thankfully, the execution works nicely and the whole game feels polished and well made, though whether you’ll like the game depends entirely on how much you like the cash pots mechanic. It’s a nice spooky take on the game if you do, but it’s not got much else to recommend it if you don’t!
