Background
The visuals in Funky Chicken are good, harmless fun. The background to the reels is a glorious sunrise on the farm, presumably accompanied by the crows of the funky chicken, where a field of ripe corn is watched over by a smiling scarecrow. The symbols themselves are a little less bucolic, and while the low-value symbols are just multicoloured versions of the standard 9 – A, the high-value symbols include an angry, gun-toting farmer and a tractor gone haywire. It’s not high art, but the theme is amusing and well designed with cartoonish graphics, though the lack of game-specific sound effects is a little disappointing. Not even a rooster’s squawk!
There’s also not much to write home about in the main game’s mechanics, where you’ll find the standard three rows and five reels with 25 paylines to play on.
