Background
You’ve probably never seen Ancient Egypt presented this way before. We’re used to seeing it as a shadowy place full of the faded glory of the past, but in Cleo’s Wish slot game it’s a bright and airy place full of lush plants, gold, jewels, and the peppy little character of Cleo herself who accompanies you on your spins. The soundtrack reminds you of a daytime game show, which is a change from the mournful Middle Eastern fare you usually hear, and while the low-value symbols are the standard 9 – A, the high-value symbols look gorgeous. Golden ankhs, jewelled scarabs, ruby studded arm bracelets and a couple of special symbols make up the most valuable symbols in the game, adding a touch of sparkle to proceedings. Cleo herself is a delight, looking very cute in her Ancient Egyptian outfit, and reacting to your wins as you play.
But just like in real life, Cleopatra is far from just a pretty face: During the game she’ll wave her magical sceptre to give you any one of three effects at random, including turning whole reels wild, adding extra wilds at random and turning all the high-value symbols into the same symbol. These are all sure-fire ways to create wins, which is a generous touch from the game. The slight downside is that you’ll need as many of these random gifts as you can get because neither the maximum bet nor the RTP are much to shout about. We were delighted to play a game about Egypt that was a little different to the norm, with its sunny, happy protagonist lifting the usual gloom that lies over these games. Cleo’s Wish is peppy and fun, and packed with good features, though beware because you’ll definitely need to hit these often to make any money due to the stingy main game.
