We all know and have varying levels of appreciation for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, but with something so polarising and unique, you’re bound to get a few wacky spin-offs that are just a little bit out there.
With that in mind, we think it’s time to dive into the chaos that is the Parrots of the Caribbean slot game by Revolver Gaming.
Things start off pretty normally with a 5×3 reel layout against the backdrop of a really stunning beach, seemingly placed on some kind of pirate-themed Skull Island. There are 25 paylines to sink your teeth into alongside a string of themed symbols alongside the standard playcards, including the drunk parrot, lady parrot, captain parrot and more.
The return to player (RTP) percentage is quite obviously a crucial piece of the puzzle for so many players out there, and they’ll be taking that logic into their experience with the Parrots of the Caribbean slot game. The reported RTP for this one comes in at 96.05% and while that may be below the industry average, the volatility is low to medium, which means smaller but more consistent wins could easily be on the cards.
You only have to get underway with a nice minimum stake of $€£0.25 before working your way up to a very generous maximum stake of $€£250 – if you want to throw caution to the wind. From there, landing upwards of 80x your initial stake in winnings is always pretty feasible.
There’s a gritty element to this slot with the pirate theming that actually works in association with the bright colour scheme quite nicely. You could maybe accuse the gameplay of being a bit too fast at times, but we really like the upbeat and dramatic tempo they try to set.
The wild symbol here is the Kraken Pirate which can substitute itself in place of all other symbols outside of the bonus and Free Spin scatter – with sticky wilds being a possibility down the road in the bonus features.
Speaking of which, landing three or more Free Spins symbols will unlock the free spins feature. You will get four free spins from three symbols, five free spins from four symbols and eight free spins from five symbols.
Plus, upon entering the game, players are awarded four turns of the Pirate Plunder. You’ll move along according to the judgement of two compass pointers, and if they both point at the same number, you’ll receive an extra turn and some multipliers. Oh, and a special prize averaging up to 25x is available too.
The Parrots of the Caribbean slot game is fun, doesn’t take itself too seriously and offers enough in the way of winnings to make this an intriguing slot.
Revolver Gaming probably could’ve gone a bit further with the bonus features but all in all, this was still pretty enjoyable.
